Who are the women of A Writer’s Odyssey?
A Writer’s Odyssey is a co-operative. This means we aren’t run by institutional investors or shareholders but by our members. That’s me, Petra Howard, and the wonderful people I work with—and even a little bit by you, our client.
The idea began after I received the logo and banner for my business, Dragonsfly Edits. My friend, Brandi Evans, asked if I had a website, since I didn’t, she offered to build it. I loved the way we worked together, and during this time, we had a huge “what if” moment.
Shortly after this chat, I invited Jay Aheer into the conversation. Her book covers are astounding, and I thought she would fit in well with me and Brandi. Over the next several days, three more ladies were brought in—Sam Thorne and Nara Malone—and A Writer’s Odyssey was born.

What if an indie author could go to just one place for everything they needed to self-publish their book? Cover, content editing, final line editing, formatting...the whole shebang.

Brandi Evans (USA), published author
Brandi wears many hats. She builds the websites (shoot, she calls them “Blogsites”), formats the manuscripts and, occasionally, lends a hand in the editing department, mainly performing Final Line Edits. Learn more about Brandi here.

Nara Malone (USA), published author
Nara has created a platform where authors can virtually build worlds straight out of their imagination. This is a great tool for those wanting to truly bring their setting to life. Sam Thorne (UK), published author
